telc Deutsch B1 Ratgeber
Exam day step by step
Von PreparaioAktualisiert am
Exam day is for delivery, not preparation. Goal: arrive rested, focused, on time, with the right documents.
Inhalt
The evening before
Lay out ID, the invitation, at least two blue or black ballpoint pens, and a small bottle of water. Recheck the address and route.
No new learning. If tired, a short review of oral part 3 phrases helps more than another grammar hour.
Arrive with buffer
Arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start. Centres often lock doors on time; late entry is usually not possible.
In the room
On your desk: ID, pens, water. Not allowed: phone, smartwatch, dictionaries, notes, headphones.
Listen closely to the invigilator's instructions. Ask before a task starts if anything is unclear.
Managing nerves
Nerves are normal. Techniques: two slow deep breaths, structure the task ("first I'll read the questions"), start with a small doable step to get momentum.
If you get stuck mid-task, park a best guess, move on, return at the end.
After the exam
Results are issued by the exam centre; wait times vary. Note down which tasks were hard, in case you need to retrain for a resit.
Häufige Fragen
What if I forget my ID?
Without a valid official photo ID, participation is usually refused. Pack IDs the evening before.
Can I bring snacks?
A small water is usually allowed; food in the room is usually not. Ask the centre for house rules.
