How do I start?

Otherwise, choose an exam and select the option to start with the suggested programme. You can then open your learning plan or practise a skill.

Do I need my exam date or a weekly study target?

No. You can start with the suggested programme without deciding either now. If the setup asks for these details, use the starting programme option. Add or change your goals later in your learning area or settings.

Do I have to take a level check first?

Accepted Answer

No. A level check helps estimate your starting point, but you can start practising without one. The public quick check is a short introduction; the diagnostic in your account provides more detail. Your learning profile becomes more informative as you complete tasks.

Where do I go after signing in?

Your learning area brings together your selected exam, learning plan, skills and progress. Open a skill to practise it, or use the navigation for vocabulary and practice exams. On a phone, open the navigation menu if the section you want is not visible.

Which exams can I prepare for?

Preparaio offers preparation areas for DTZ, TOEFL iBT 2026, IELTS Academic and telc Deutsch B1. The exam selection shows the access currently available to you. Preparaio is a preparation platform; booking or taking an official exam is separate.

What does the language filter above the exam cards do?

It narrows the exam cards by the language being tested: German or English. Choose all languages to see all cards again. This filter does not change your interface language or translate exam tasks.

How do I change the language of menus and feedback?

Use the language selector for menus. In Settings, choose Language of AI feedback, or leave it on Automatic to use your saved native language or app language. Your native language also controls vocabulary translations. The interface supports 15 languages: German, English, Arabic, Turkish, Russian, Ukrainian, Persian, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Vietnamese and Chinese. Exam texts, recordings, quotes, corrections and model answers remain in the exam language.

Can I prepare without a school or a fixed exam date?

Yes. You can learn independently and start before booking your exam. If you join through a school, your school manages the access it provides and may assign work for you.

How do I find the exercise I want?

Select the right exam, open the skill you want to practise and choose an available task type or set. Use the filters shown in that area to narrow the selection. Available options differ by exam and skill. If nothing matches, clear the filters or try a different type.

What is the difference between an exercise and a practice exam?

Accepted Answer

Exercises focus on a particular skill or task type. Practice exams bring together tasks for a longer, more structured session. Where offered, you can choose a section or a complete practice exam. Read the mode, scope and time shown before starting.

Do I have to follow the learning plan in order?

The plan suggests what to work on next, but you can also open a skill directly. Start with the suggested programme if you are unsure about your level or available time, then adjust your goals as you learn.

How do vocabulary practice and the AI coach help?

The vocabulary trainer helps you practise words for your selected exam and revisit material. The AI coach can explain mistakes and help with preparation. Check the feedback against the task: AI answers and score estimates can contain errors.

Why is my result still pending or incomplete?

Accepted Answer

Some answers, especially writing and speaking, need additional processing. Pending does not mean zero points. Read the status on the results page and use its refresh or retry option if offered. If it does not resolve, contact support with the exam, task and approximate time.

Are my scores official exam results?

Accepted Answer

No. Scores, level estimates and feedback are learning aids based on the answers available. A short check or an incomplete practice exam cannot establish a full exam score. Only your official exam provider can issue an official result or certificate.

Can I pause, leave or repeat a practice exam?

Accepted Answer

This depends on the exam and mode. Check the controls and any warning before leaving; timed sessions may continue counting down. Save or submit your answer when prompted. Do not assume that an unfinished recording or unsent text has been saved.

An audio recording will not play. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

Check your internet connection, device volume and selected headphones or speaker. Press play yourself; browsers may block automatic playback. If an error appears, use the audio retry button. Playback and transcript options depend on the task and mode. Do not guess an answer because the audio failed.

How do I record my speaking answer?

Allow microphone access in the browser when asked. Check that the right microphone is selected and no other call or app is using it. Start recording, speak, stop, then listen back if that option is available and submit. Keep the page open until the upload or submission is confirmed.

A page or task is stuck. How can I continue?

Accepted Answer

Read the message first and use the retry button if there is one. Check your connection and try an up-to-date browser. Before reloading or signing out, copy any unsent writing to a safe place; an unfinished recording may be lost. If the problem continues, send support the page, exam, browser and error message.

Can I learn on my phone or without internet?

Accepted Answer

You can use Preparaio in a browser on your phone, tablet or computer. An internet connection is required for loading tasks, audio, submission and feedback. For longer writing or practice exams, use a device on which you can read, type and record comfortably.

When does my free trial start?

Accepted Answer

For a new learner, the trial starts when registration and the setup for the selected exam are completed. No payment details are required to start. Your learning area shows the access and end date that apply to you. School access is managed separately by your school.

Will the trial automatically become a paid subscription?

Accepted Answer

Starting a trial without payment details does not itself create a paid subscription. To buy access, choose a plan and confirm the purchase in checkout. Check the price, minimum term and renewal conditions before paying.

How much does a plan cost and what is included?

Accepted Answer

The prices page and checkout show the current price and terms for your selected exam. Plans can have different minimum terms; a monthly equivalent is not necessarily a one-month commitment. Check the selected exam, term, amount due and renewal details in checkout.

How do I cancel or manage a subscription?

Open Billing in your account and use the cancellation option. You can also contact support@preparaio.com. Cancellation takes effect according to your plan's minimum term and billing period; check the confirmation for the end date. See your order and the terms for the conditions that apply.

My payment succeeded, but access is missing. What now?

Check that you are signed into the account used for the purchase and that the correct exam is selected. Give the payment confirmation a moment to arrive, then reload the access or billing page. If access is still missing, contact support with your order reference. Do not pay again just to retry activation.

What is the difference between a school account and a learner account?

Accepted Answer

School administrators and teachers use their accounts to manage learners, classes, assignments and progress. These management accounts do not take exercises or practice exams. Learners use their own learner accounts for studying.

How do I set up a school and invite learners?

Accepted Answer

Register your school and check its approval and enabled exams in the school area. Once the required access is available, open student management and add or invite learners. Check each email address and selected exam before sending. You can track invitation status there.

How does a learner accept a school invitation?

Accepted Answer

Open the latest invitation and follow its sign-in or password setup steps using the invited email address. If a different account is already signed in, switch accounts first. Complete acceptance to connect the learner account to the school. Simply opening an email is not the same as accepting the invitation.

What if an invitation has expired or does not work?

School invitations are valid for 14 days. Use the newest invitation. If the page says the link is invalid or expired, use the option to request a new invitation, or ask your school's administrator to resend it. For a password reset, request a new password reset link from the login page.

Can a school customise invitation and reminder emails?

Where template editing is enabled, school administrators can edit invitation and reminder templates in Branding, including subject, message, signature and reply address. Use the preview and test option before saving. Required invitation links and expiry details are added automatically. Schools are responsible for the language of their own template text; it is not automatically translated.

Which learners are included in school billing?

School billing is based on added learners who have not been deactivated, rather than whether they completed a lesson that month. Pending invitations and management accounts are not counted as learners. Deactivated learners stop being billed from the next billing period. Check Billing for your school's prices and terms.

I forgot my password. How do I get back in?

Accepted Answer

Select Forgot password on the login page and enter the email address for your account. Open the newest reset email and set a new password. If the link has expired or was already used, request another. A school invitation and a password reset are different links.

I have not received an email. What should I check?

Accepted Answer

Check spam and other inbox folders, and confirm that you used the correct email address. Look for the newest message from Preparaio. For school invitations, ask the school to check the address and invitation status. If necessary, request a fresh link or contact support.

In which language will I receive emails?

Accepted Answer

Preparaio's standard emails follow your saved interface language, with English as the fallback. Schools can write their own invitation and reminder text, so these messages may use the language chosen by your school.

How can I manage or delete my data?

Open account settings for the available privacy and deletion options. Read the confirmation carefully before deleting an account. The privacy notice explains data processing, service providers and any retention obligations. Contact support if you need help with a data request.

Open the DTZ learning area for listening, reading, writing and speaking practice. Choose the skill and available task type, or open a practice exam. For the official exam structure and scoring, use the DTZ guides linked from the exam guide overview.

Is Preparaio an official DTZ exam centre?

No. Preparaio supports preparation and does not register you for the official test or issue its certificate. Arrange your test with an authorised exam centre and confirm dates, fees and requirements there.

Select TOEFL iBT 2026 for Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking. The area includes practice by task type and practice exams. Check the description, section order and timer shown for the selected session; practice modes may offer different controls. Listening: Listen and Choose a Response; Listen to a Conversation; Listen to an Announcement; Listen to an Academic Talk. Writing: Build a Sentence; Write an Email; Write for an Academic Discussion. How should I read a TOEFL score estimate?

Does Preparaio prepare me for IELTS Academic or General Training?

The IELTS preparation area is for IELTS Academic. Choose Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking in that area. Do not assume that Academic reading and writing tasks match General Training; confirm which test your institution requires.

Open the IELTS Academic guides from the exam guide overview for task explanations and preparation advice. In the learning area, review the instructions for the selected task and the feedback after submitting. Band estimates support practice and do not replace an official result.

Are telc Deutsch B1 and DTZ the same course?

No. They are separate exam formats and have separate preparation areas. Select the exam you will actually take so that you practise the appropriate tasks. If you are unsure, check with your school or exam centre.
