How it's calculated
- Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing are each reported on a 1.0–6.0 scale in 0.5-point increments.
- The overall score is the arithmetic mean of the four bands, rounded to the nearest 0.5-point increment.
- The CEFR level follows the band-to-CEFR table published by ETS: 1 / 1.5 = A1, 2 / 2.5 = A2, 3 / 3.5 = B1, 4 / 4.5 = B2, 5 / 5.5 = C1, 6 = C2.
ETS documents how the bands align to CEFR levels, but not a unique single-point conversion to the former 0–120 total. This calculator therefore claims no 0–120 value. Your official ETS score report is always authoritative.
