The placement test is completely free. You don't need an account, an email address, or a credit card. You start directly in your browser, complete short tasks from all four skills, and at the end, you see an honest evaluation for each skill.

We explicitly say "honest" because we deliberately don't show a fantasy prediction if we have too few answers from you. We prefer to transparently say "for a reliable assessment, we need a few more tasks" rather than invent a number.

We've seen too many providers in this market who advertise with "free" but demand a credit card after three clicks or force immediate registration. We don't do that.

With us, you see the entire placement test before you commit to anything. If you're satisfied, you can continue. If not, you've still gained an honest assessment — and that's worth more than a nice marketing number.

Getting started is intentionally kept simple. You click the button above, briefly choose which skill you want to test first, and get started. The test runs directly in your browser, also works on mobile, and takes about 15 minutes in total.

If you need a break in between, you can save your result with a free account and continue later. If you want to test all at once, that's also possible — without registration.

"Free" for us doesn't mean "less useful." Even with the free offer, you can make significant progress in a few weeks — if you follow three simple rules.

First: Practice regularly, not sporadically. Ten minutes on five days brings more than an hour on the weekend. Second: Practice all four skills, even those you find difficult. That's exactly where your fastest progress is possible. Third: Look at your mistakes. After each task, we show you what was right and what was wrong — don't click away, take a moment to consider why the correct answer fits.

If you eventually realize you want more — more tasks, the full exam mode, AI feedback on your own letters and speaking recordings — Premium is available. But the beginning is free, and it's meant seriously.

And one more important thing: Even the free offer costs us money — servers, task maintenance, support. That's why we finance it through paying Premium users. If you eventually switch to Premium, you simultaneously make it possible for others to continue to get started for free. That's our model — and we think it's a fair one.

And if you're unsure whether this path is right for you: Just try it for fifteen minutes. It costs you nothing but time — and afterwards, you'll see with your own eyes if our exercises suit your learning style. This decision shouldn't be a big one, so we make it as easy as possible.
